A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Mike Bromley, and I’m a freelance WordPress website designer based in Wickford, Essex.

I started building websites as a hobby late last century, teaching myself HTML, CSS and Dreamweaver along the way. One of my early sites was for my children’s school, which was awarded the county’s school website of the month competition.

Most of my career was spent working for a large firm in the City of London. In the early noughties I was enjoying my hobby of building websites and databases so much (yes, I’m that geeky) that I managed to get myself transferred to the IT department.

Once in IT, I fulfilled roles in everything from development and support through to project management. Even after I stopped developing, I continued to work with the IT team responsible for the firm’s global websites.

By 2017 it was time for a career break. My wife and I both quit our jobs, bought a motorhome, and spent a wonderful couple of years travelling around Europe. Itching to get back to hands-on website work, I built a WordPress blog so that we could record all of our adventures.

We’ve returned from our travels, back to ‘real life’, and I’m now a freelance WordPress website designer. It’s what I enjoy doing the most.

Working with me

You’re looking to somebody to build or redesign a website for you, and I’m well aware that there are hundreds of other freelancers you can choose from who offer similar services. Here’s what you can expect if you choose me to design your website for you:

Honesty

I firmly believe in being open and honest, and I won't accept work if I'm not 100% certain that I can deliver what you're after. If any unexpected issues arise whilst I'm building your website, I will let you know straight away.

Timely

With many years of project management experience, I know just how important it is to deliver a project on time.

Quality

My priority is delivering top quality websites, which is why I will only use WordPress. I keep myself up to date with the latest standards, and regularly review plugins and themes to ensure that I only use the best tools when designing your website.

Value for money

Being a freelancer, my overheads are low and so I am able to offer competitive prices.

acorn

What does Bellota mean?

I get asked this one a lot!

Being a hispanophile, I love everything Spanish. Bellota is the Spanish word for acorn, and there's a well-known proverb that "mighty oaks from little acorns grow".

A professional website from me can help you grow your small business into a mighty company.
